Why so cruel? And how so sublime?
Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Modern Mystic.
Today my thoughts revolve around Basic Human Needs as we continue to explore the human/Soul Journey.
I write these thoughts early in the year 2002 when change is everywhere.
Not the least are the economic changes that are forcing many of us to re-evaluate how we are going to live as we decide what our basic needs are and how we are to meet them.
For we are moving into a period of time when providing simple daily necessities may require from us a bit more human ingenuity. Soon we may be faced with identifying basic daily necessities. Many American have never had to think in those terms. So today I begin to talk about some of the changes going on at the human level....offering Ideas that may help us understand our world and what we may face in the coming years.
But always reminding everyone that KNOWING WHO WE REALLY ARE, AND APPLYING THAT KNOWLEDGE TO OUR DAILY LIVES, IS THE ANSWER to anything we may face...
If we will humanly LIVE in a Spiritual mind-set, we can never lose our way.
OUR WELL BEING AND SAFETY ARE ASSURED.....AND WE ARE EMPOWERED, when we generate CHRIST LOVE AND PEACE IN OUR LIVES.
THIS IS THE ANSWER....
SEEKING LOVE AND PEACE...FINDING IT....AND USING IT....as we, day by day lay the groundwork for Peace and Freedom for every man, woman and child on this planet. Please join me again today in saying....
LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH AND LET IT BEGIN WITH ME.
If we were asked what our most basic necessity is, what would we say? Would it occur to us that our most basic necessity, in any time,
is our Connection to God.
And do we know that the God-Connection occurs on Earth by means of the human/Soul Relationship?
Do we know how important it is to stay Conscious of the Flame in our Hearts.... and to see and feel the Life Line that connects us, Body and Soul, to all levels of Godness above and beyond?
Some of my earliest Instruction spoke of this Connection we all have to the Higher Dimensions of Cosmic Christ Power. I learned that we each have all the Guidance and Direction we will ever need coming from the Christ Consciousness of our Souls....
THE imperishable SOUL....
Do we all finally agree that WHO WE ARE IN THE HUMAN SCHEME IS
AN IMPERISHABLE, IMMORTAL, SPARK OF GOD MIND, PLANTED IN THE HEART OF A HUMAN BEING.
Or that accepting our True Identity is becoming a basic human need in today’s world. Our well being may soon depend on knowing that.
And as importantly, our well being may also depend on our ability to integrate our human and SOUL Energies, giving us access to the best of both worlds....all the Spiritual KNOWLEDGE and human COURAGE we may need to live in these times.
It’s so very important to know we have access to any Knowledge we may need and that we are EMPOWERED WITH CHRIST STRENGTH to handle any situation.
And many people have not known about the Power of their Indwelling Christness....
have not known it is the Strength needed to handle today’s necessities and perhaps, to survive whatever may lie ahead.
So to answer the question “what is our most basic human necessity”, I say
“always, but never more than now, our most basic human necessity is a close personal Relationship with our Soul and all the Godness it represents”.
And I urgently suggest that we conscientiously work to develop that Relationship, being constantly aware of the Flame in the Heart, seeing that Flame growing stronger day by day.
It’s a lot like pumping iron....the more we pump, the stronger we get.
The more we visualize and access the Power of the Flame, the larger and brighter the Flame grows....
and the more our Energy is filled with God Light. It’s that simple.
It doesn’t make any difference who we are or where we are or what is going on around us. We are practicing being Spiritually Strong....
establishing a strong connection with our Soul....
the Soul Who doesn’t care which church we go to or whether we go to any church....
or whether we have ever thought of ourselves as a human/Soul Partnership. We can start right now, right where we are, to establish this Partnership. Then as we go out into the world, the Christ Light is flowing into us through the Soul link, expanding within and around us, and flowing out from us into the world, lighting our Way and Blessing the world that is in the grips of situations that desperately need changing. This then is the only way to permanently change old, destructive energy patterns at work on the Planet.
It is the only way to maintain ourselves in a world that is throwing off those old destructive patterns.
It is the only way to stay out of the mis-spent energy responsible for the chaos and ungodliness that is currently at work on this Planet. The ungodliness at work in many lives is all too evident. We have but to witness all the terrible diseases and financial chaos, the natural as well as warring disasters.
The Planet cannot handle much more. Life is rebelling ....
The Soul of the Planet is rebelling, the Soul of each one of us is rebelling and everywhere Life is discarding human garbage.
A cycle is ending....a new Age is just around the corner, offering a new kind of Life for those who will Understand these times.
As we gain more Knowledge of WHO WE REALLY ARE AS A HUMAN/SOUL PARTNERSHIP, WE JUST NATURALLY BEGIN TO USE AND EXPAND OUR SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE AND POWER....doing it right where we are....beginning first to evolve our own lives.
For the more Spiritually Powerful we become, the more use we are, not only to ourselves, but in our service to both humanity and God....and Service is a basic human/Soul requirement.
The Spiritual Quality and Quantity of our lives is expanded by fulfilling both our human and Soul’s needs, again, wherever we are ....
MINUTE BY MINUTE.......and DAY BY DAY...
Think about this: As children we have certain limited responsibilities....as adults those responsibilities increase. If as adults, we continue to think and live like children, which many do, we will never experience either human or Spiritual Quality of Life.
There are many human beings who do not want to grow up....and who continue to approach an Understanding of God with a closed or immature mind....thinking if they can prove they 'don’t understand' they are then relieved of the necessity for acting responsibly....thinking, nothing but childlike behavior is all that is expected of them.
But if ignorance of the Law is no excuse at the human level, it becomes even less excusable at the Spiritual Level....for each has a Flame burning in the Heart....
each has the Mind of God trying to be active in the human life
....and in as much as we are capable of understanding, we are expected to apply the natural Spiritual Laws of the Universe in our every day living process.
Since we first embodied on the Planet we have been given information about those Natural Laws.
Great Teachers have come and gone giving us very practical Instruction on the Art of experiencing the human/Soul Life. Always we’ve been taught to focus our attention on the Governing Power of the Universe, commonly known as 'God'....and to see ourselves as Representatives of that Supreme Power.
Humanly we are to LIVE IN THE PRESENT MOMENT, STAYING GROUNDED IN EARTH ENERGY WHILE STAYING FOCUSED ON THE SOURCE OF ALL UNIVERSAL POWER.
We have no excuse that God will accept for failing to understand how we are connected to God through the Soul Spark anchored in the Heart of the physical body.
We have no excuse for not expanding Godness on Earth through the human /Soul Partnership.
We have no excuse for not protecting the Christ ENERGY of the Soul as we integrate It into the energies of the Earth.
We have the knowledge needed to keep our two levels of Energy, Body and Soul, BALANCED IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO DRAW FORTH FROM HIGHER PLANES WHAT MAY BE NEEDED HERE.
THUS OUR JOB IS AS FOLLOWS:
WE ARE TO STAY FOCUSED ON GOD TRUTH IN THE PRESENT MOMENT....TO STAY ON A BALANCED HUMAN AND SPIRITUAL PATH....AND IN DOING THAT, BOTH TODAY AND THE FUTURE WILL TAKE CARE OF ITSELF.
FROM A PRACTICAL STANDPOINT, IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT IF OUR ENERGY IS FLOWING IN A BALANCED MANNER, EACH DAY WILL PRESENT US ONLY WITH THOSE SITUATIONS TO BE DEALT WITH THAT DAY.
SOMETIMES IT’S HARD TO ACCEPT THAT IDEA....FOR AS WE HAVE LET OUR LIVES....OUR ENERGY....GET OUT OF BALANCE, WE ARE OFTEN OVERWHELMED BY WORK AND WORRY....BY SITUATIONS WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH AS OUR UNBALANCED ENERGY CASCADES INTO OUR LIVES.
WHEN OUR LIVES COME APART AT THE SEAMS, THAT IS OUR UNBALANCED ENERGY BEING DUMPED BACK INTO OUR LAPS TO BE BALANCED.
I KNOW WE DON’T WANT TO HEAR THAT.
BUT, WE HAVE ENTERED A PERIOD OF TIME, A NEW CYCLE, WHEN THE BASIC INCOMING COSMIC ENERGY WILL NOT SUPPORT ENERGY THAT IS OUT OF BALANCE....FOR THAT’S WHAT IS PRODUCING VIOLENCE AND HATE AND WAR.
HATE AND VIOLENCE AND WAR ARE ON THEIR WAY OUT!
IF IT DOESN’T SEEM THAT WAY AT THE MOMENT....BUT WAIT AND SEE. THOSE OF US WHO WILL BALANCE OUR ENERGY WILL NEVER AGAIN EXPERIENCE WARRING OF ANY KIND ON THIS PLANET.
AND IF WE ARE NOT CALLED TO TAKE UP ARMS TO DEFEND GOD AND FREEDOM, WE ARE REQUIRED TO BECOME ALL-PEACE!
NO ONE CAN ANY LONGER GO ON BEING WARLIKE IN PERSONAL BEHAVIOR
AND EXPECT TO RIDE OUT THIS PERIOD OF CHANGE WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT
UP IN THE WHIRLWINDS OF UNBALANCED ENERGY.
WE ARE PRESENTLY SEEING MASSIVE CHANGES HERE ON EARTH IN UNCOUNTABLE WAYS. IF WE READ OUR NEWSPAPER MOST OF WHAT IS REPORTED LOOKS CHAOTIC....
BUT IT IS AN ORDERED CHAOS...SWEEPING OUT OLD UNBALANCED ENERGY.
IN A SHORT TIME, PEACE WILL REPLACE ANY CHAOS IN THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO WILL ACCEPT PEACE AND WHO WILL UNDERSTAND AND FLOW ON THE INCOMING TIDE.
IT WILL MEAN TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHAT GOES ON IN OUR INDIVIDUAL BITS OF THE UNIVERSE.....REALIZING THERE IS MUCH TO LEARN AND UNLEARN, MUCH TO DO AND NOT DO, IN ORDER TO BE READY.
So each week, we’ve taken a minute here to practice Peace
by quieting our Energy...slowing the work of our hands and minds for a few moments....
and then focusing on the Source of our Power.
We are building a Wall of Powerful, Protective, Peaceful, Loving Light around ourselves...around our loved ones.
We are Imagining a Wall of Christ Protection around America....
imagining America enfolded in Christ Love....
then taking that Love farther out....and giving it to the whole hurting world....healing all the wounds of hate.
Today let’s fill our Quiet Place with the fragrance of flowers and soothing, pleasant sounds. When I meditate I often sit by a pond, listening to the sound of water.... shutting out the world for those few minutes.
We all need time to allow our human minds and hearts to rest ....
and so we create for ourselves a place to go to get away from anything stressful we may be working on.
Quietly visualize the Cosmic Christ Light flowing into all areas of the Energy of our lives.... balancing our Energy....filling it with Purity and Peace.
We ask again, to be sealed in Christ Light....
we ask that America be sealed in Christ Light,
we ask that Christ Energy touch the Life of people everywhere.
Now as we Wrap ourselves in the Heart Light of God
Seeing opalescent Light spiraling around ourselves....
We open our minds to the Highest Information Channels
and invite the Christ Light from God's own Heart to stream into our Hearts
and Minds and into the Hearts and Minds of every man,
woman and child on this Planet
That each one of us may become a Channel for
Light and Illumination and Peace to descend to Earth
In addressing our basic human needs, we want to be aware of the very basic need to get out of our old, often suffocating boxes
. Over thousands of years....perhaps thousands of embodiments, we have imprisoned ourselves behind walls....walls of fear....walls of ignorance....walls of prejudice, pride and conceit.
So many walls between ourselves and others,
between God and us....
between our Souls and us.
Those walls have to come down. If we don’t get ourselves out of those self created prisons, the incoming Energy will break them down....and we don’t want to be inside when that happens. We have to open ourselves to New Understanding in simple ways....and it is often by nothing more difficult than making the Effort to Understand what the human and Spiritual Issues of our day are.
Starting with Basic Practicality.
We start by accepting the practicality of feeding and clothing ourselves....the practicality to humanly function within the society in which we live. But let's not continue to deny ourselves the practicality of including the Soul in our human efforts. Such a simple basic Truth. And all the painful consequences of that denial.
Think about this:
We have allowed ourselves to list our human-ness on one side of the coin and our Spirituality on the other....seeing 'Body and Soul' as two separate Ideas. When in actuality, there is no separation....
it is all one Energy, one visible and the other invisible.
We have chosen what we will believe....and thus have generated the circumstances of our lives. For those who choose to combine human ness and Spirituality, Reality becomes a simple, basic, practical Truth that can be demonstrated through the human/Soul Relationship on earth....
In previous programs I suggested that the Spiritual CEOs in charge of our Universe long ago set into motion great and sweeping Plans. These plans are destined to play out over many periods of time. Humanly we can scarcely imagine the Scope of God’s Plans. And we, in this tiny Slice of what we call Time, cannot help but be curious and interested in these Great Plans for without a doubt we are important Parts of those Plans.
A basic human need is to get an inkling of these Plans and our Place in them.
My hope has always been to present Ideas that will MORE FULLY awaken us to WHO WE REALLY ARE....and 'who we are' within those Sweeping Cosmic Plans.
A very great, basic human need is to Understand the Reality of the Higher Invisible Levels of Ourselves. Then to 'see' ourselves as those three Spiritual Levels of Beingness.
Seeing the HIGHEST LEVEL TO BE THE I AM PRESENCE....
AND A STEP DOWN BELOW THAT WE FIND OUR HOLY CHRIST SELF....
while here on Earth WE WORK WITHIN THE HUMAN/SOUL PARTNERSHIP.
We need to 'see' that Partnership of Body and Soul....to Understand It to be the Servant of a High Cosmic Power....we need to acknowledge our human body to be the vehicle through which the Soul lives on Earth....and finally to accept the human-us as very important, with particular and legitimate needs.
In all these levels....on all these Planes of Life, we are active. Wherever we are, we have certain work to do that furthers those Great and Sweeping Plans of God. In all three Levels we work within different frequencies of Spiritual Energy.
Here on earth we encounter the slowest, or densest Energy....and it is within this low, slow Earth vibration that the Soul must do its work to further those sweeping Plans of God.
As we talk about what we must do to promote the human/Soul Relationship, we first realize the need of a very practical, knowledgeable approach to Life at the human level.
We realize that just keeping the human us alive and functioning, let alone functioning well, requires a fair amount of skill and determination and tenacity. We know we can’t maintain ourselves alone outside of society and all it provides. We can’t grow our food. We can’t weave or spin or craft clothes to cover ourselves. We might be able to find in a cave or some simple structure to live in...but we are not skilled in taking advantage of nature’s bounty. So we are all faced with earning a living....and that brings up the subject of money.
In our modern society nothing seems simple or straight forward. Even money. What we call money is a fairly complicated idea rising out of the need of individuals to buy and sell from places distant to each other Thus a long time ago a practice arose of using a piece of paper to write a promise to pay.....a promissory note....that at one time was always backed by gold sitting in someone’s vault.
Far back into antiquity, it seems that gold was always the basic, stable form of wealth, and used for many purposes. For thousands of years we’ve seen it used by most cultures to buy and sell.
Gold was not called “money”. Only the paper we use today is called money and 'money' is nothing but a form of credit....a promise to pay written on a scrape of paper guaranteed by the politics of the moment.
Today’s paper (money) is backed by nothing we can depend on.
Thus, in the future a stable economy may depend on getting back to the gold standard.
Our income usually depends on a stable economy which gives rise to our having a job. A good job usually depends on an adequate education and a certain amount of personal git-up-and-go....a willingness to 'labor' for the necessities of human life.
Those who create jobs for others need capital. They often need more education....they certainly need greater 'know how', greater willingness to 'labor' and an even greater willingness to take chances.
Most of us depend on the entrepreneurial use of money or capital, our own or that of someone else, to provide us with a job....or provide some one in our family with a job.
Now we are earning an income.
And what do we do with this money we earn?
I began this program talking about our most important basic human need, which I defined as our Understanding and Connection to God.
Now we’ve moved on to the next 'most basic need' which is earning a living and understanding the role played by money in our economy.
That needs to be addressed now...for few understand either money or what is meant by our economy....which is in trouble...or understand why our economy is in trouble?
It is very complicated on one hand....but not so complicated on the other.. We have just witnessed ten years of economic mis-management....by government and by individuals, where too much money left the hands of people not sophisticated in the Art of Investing and went into the hands of those who make their living selling stocks, mutual funds and similar paper creations by which money is moved from one hand to another.
We have watched hard earned wealth flow into the hands of people and organizations who unwisely handled that money, and who today are playing a large role in all the destructive things that are going on economically all over the world....
There are many issues in play here....The 'Federal Reserve Type Banks' of many Nations continue to print money, trillions of dollars backed by nothing. The Federal Reserve Bank of the United States prints money (promises to pay) and this is flowing into economies all over the world....weakening the value of U S dollar....giving politicians and bankers and brokers more money to use and waste....
and all that and much more is a recipe for the financial disaster that may be unfolding all around us, all over the world. And if it happens it happens to all of us....that disaster will fall on all of us.
To survive, governments, all over the world and at all levels, will have to tax their way out of this disaster. And the taxpayers, all over the world, will need all their basic skills to provide for themselves.
In America....the United States of America....we are having to do this while pouring out support to the rest of the world.
Here in America we are not being told the depth of the economic crisis in this country...I'm not sure anyone really knows how deep this economic disaster reaches.
So a basic human need of the moment is for people to learn all that can be learned about our economy ....discover for themselves to what degree it is faltering....and the reasons, old and new, will not matter....for reasons will not feed us or clothe us or keep a roof over our heads.
And how we fare in the next few years, may well depend on our taking a very practical look at our lives today....where we live, how secure our jobs are....how we are spending what we earn... perhaps, rethinking how we spend what we earn.
I know from conversations with many people that the average person hasn’t a clue about the very complex, financial mess the modern countries of this Planet have gotten themselves into over the past years....and particularly during the Stock Market’s roaring '90s....as humanity has tried to supplant the Natural Laws of Nature and of God. It won't work. It never has worked!
You’ve heard me say I believe Life on this Planet was intended to be a simple and practical Path....a Way of Life designed by Great Beings to allow the logical development of both Body and Soul....particularly, in so far as it is meant to be a Path where the two are learning to function as One.
I’ve spoken at length of the ways and means of cleaning up and expanding the Energy of God that pulses within and around us. I’ve talked of what we must and must not do if we are to keep our Energy in balance with that of the Greater Force of the Universe.
Now let speak again as to why this is so important....
and why can’t we just focus on achieving a more Spiritual State of Being regardless of what is going on in the world.
The answer is that we must never lose sight of our 'human needs'....
for the Soul needs a well set up and supplied body.
And we may think that the subject of money is beneath our dignity....that it is too mundane....too earthy....not Godly....or maybe we correctly perceive that in many cases money fuels greed.
However, there are two sides to the every aspect of our lives....the visible and invisible.... the human and the Spiritual....with our job being to Spiritualize or raise the vibration of everything at work in the human world....including money.
So, in thinking about this we can start by addressing the Biblical admonition about money where-in we are told that it is the “love of money” that we need to beware of....
and that means loving money for itself.
Or wanting money for the power it gives us over others,
Instead it’s perceiving 'money' as the means to supplying our lives with the necessities of life....
it’s using money to serve Life wherever the need arises.
It’s seeing money as a solidification of Universal Energy,
solidified to make it usable on Earth.
I like to think of all the things we use as solidified Energy....some of them better for us than others.
Getting back to Gold.....gold has a high and purifying Rate of Vibration.
It’s good for us. We’re told it has been widely used in every 'Golden Age' because it raises the vibration of anything it comes in contact with. Once mankind knew these facts....and apparently greed didn’t exist in those times.
Today gold is prized by people who recognize its value.....visible and invisible....but what does that have to do with our subject of money or the economy or our basic human needs?
....well just this.
First of all, (and this is personal) I believe that Gold was and still is intended to be the stable means of buying and selling the necessities of Life......
and while it was 'our money' this country was developing and survived its growing pains for two hundred years.
And then the materialistic idea of a central controlling bank that would print 'paper money' and issue credit crept in. This idea was eventually forced upon the American people early in the nineteenth century.
Then in the 1930s the people were tricked into turning in their gold and were no longer allowed to transact business with gold. I remember my mother telling me that while she worked for the Telephone Company during the 1920s, she was paid in gold.
In the 1970s governments, including America, no longer paid their debts in gold as had been the law of this land. And from then on gold no longer backed up our government’s promise to pay.
And paper money, which can be a manipulative instrument of government and large banks, became and still is, the world's means of financial transactions, throughout the world.
And people have been brainwashed into believing in paper...in turning their backs on real value. And ever since every Nation who has adopted this way of doing business has been on the slippery slope to financial ruin. And there is a ton of evidence to back up these thoughts.
So there is much we need to know to assure our basic human needs. And none of us is without Inner Guidance. There is much to be dealt with on this Planet. This is a time when Body and Soul, man and God, need to be working together to provide the Answers.
And we don’t operate in a vacuum, as individuals or as a country. The economic problems facing mankind are world wide.....and are unfixable in their present state.
Which is why we must allow the 'God of our Beings' to have some say in our lives, for the people of the world desperately need God’s Help. Mankind has dug itself into a very deep hole....and we’re all there, in it together.
So I end on that note today and will complete these thoughts next week...asking you to remember your High Purpose.
And that while we can be our own worst enemy....
God in us is our Salvation in every situation.
